Message from the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit

Welcome to the realm of quality and excellence.

In light of the rapid transformations taking place worldwide in the field of higher education, quality is no longer merely an institutional choice; it has become a strategic commitment and a national responsibility imposed by the demands of global competitiveness. Based on this understanding, the state places increasing emphasis on developing the higher education system as a key gateway to achieving sustainable development and building human capacities capable of leading the future.

In this context, Capital University (formerly Helwan University) strives to keep pace with successive changes by developing the educational system in all its components, contributing to the preparation of qualified graduates who possess the knowledge and skills that enable them to compete effectively in the labor market.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the official webpage of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Social Work, which serves as the main driver for promoting a culture of quality within the college community. We work to implement academic accreditation standards in accordance with the latest local and international practices, with a focus on offering distinguished educational programs that combine practical aspects with modern trends in social work. This supports the faculty’s ability to renew institutional accreditation and obtain program accreditation.

The Unit is also committed to supporting continuous improvement efforts through self-evaluation, performance measurement, and the activation of monitoring, evaluation, and development systems. In addition, it enhances the effective participation of all stakeholders, including faculty members, students, administrative staff, and community partners.

Believing that quality is a collective responsibility, we emphasize the importance of integrating the roles of all concerned parties, in a way that supports the sustainability of quality and achieves the faculty’s vision and mission.

In conclusion, we reaffirm our commitment to working in a team spirit and adopting innovation and transparency as core values, striving to achieve institutional excellence and strengthen the faculty’s leadership. The Unit also works to foster a positive awareness among all members of the faculty community towards continuous development, relying on highly qualified human resources and ensuring that educational outcomes align with the mission of the faculty and, consequently, the mission and strategic objectives of the university. The Unit is also dedicated to following up on and reviewing the faculty's annual self-evaluation reports, adhering to the required templates and specified timelines, as well as identifying the training needs of academic and administrative leadership, faculty members, their assistants, and administrative staff. A comprehensive training plan is then developed and implemented with the help of specialized trainers from within and outside the faculty to enhance their capabilities and performance. In conclusion, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the Faculty, the Vice-Deans, the Heads of Academic Departments, the General Director of the Faculty, the Executive Team of the Quality Assurance Unit, the esteemed faculty members, their assistants, the administrative staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the community stakeholders. This appreciation is extended in recognition of the tremendous efforts made by all to continue the journey towards renewing accreditation in 2026.

About Unit

Unit Vision

Leadership and excellence in applying quality assurance systems and institutional and academic accreditation standards at the local, regional, and international levels.

Unit Mission

To establish an effective quality system that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational, research, and community services provided by the faculty, while ensuring quality and continuous development of the faculty’s projects and development programs in accordance with its mission, goals, and strategic objectives, and in alignment with national and international standards and specifications of higher education institutions.

The aim is to gain the trust of the community, its organizations, faculty members, staff, and students. This will be achieved by relying on outstanding human competencies, adequate material resources, and effective systems and mechanisms for performance measurement and evaluation, ensuring the faculty’s high competitiveness in delivering distinguished educational, research, and community services

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Unit

1. Promoting the culture of quality and accreditation among faculty members, their assistants, administrative staff, other employees, and students of the faculty.

2. Achieving the faculty’s mission and strategic objectives by ensuring the quality of the educational, research, and community activities provided by the faculty.

3. Establishing a clear quality system within the faculty aimed at enhancing the level of educational services provided by faculty members, thereby enabling the faculty’s graduates to reach a distinguished level that aligns with international standards.

4. Preparing the faculty to meet the requirements and standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

5. Gaining the community’s trust in the faculty's graduates by elevating their performance levels in accordance with international standards, ensuring the satisfaction of the community and its various institutions.

6. Strengthening the relationship between the faculty and civil society institutions to benefit from feedback in developing and improving the services provided by the faculty.

7. Continuously raising awareness of quality culture and performance evaluation across units and administrative departments of the faculty and monitoring their performance levels.

8. Providing various proposals and recommendations related to the application of the quality system within the faculty, and carrying out relevant studies to achieve the unit’s objectives and prepare the faculty for comprehensive performance evaluation and future accreditation.

9. Creating a comprehensive database for the faculty that includes (faculty members, faculty assistants, administrative and support staff, students, academic programs, degrees awarded by the faculty, program and course specifications, and identifying the beneficiaries of the faculty's graduates and their needs).

10. Proposing the establishment of new academic programs in accordance with the needs of the community.

11. Contributing to the development of academic standards for the faculty’s programs.

12. Monitoring the implementation of standards in a way that supports the educational process.
