       I am pleased to welcome you to the Bachelor of Social Work program (a fee-based program) offered on a credit-hour system. This program is committed to providing a structured and supportive learning environment that contributes to achieving the goals of the educational process and helps students attain academic and professional excellence.

The program coordinator is responsible for organizing and monitoring students' academic and administrative affairs, providing them with the necessary support from their enrollment until graduation. This includes overseeing class schedules, monitoring registration and enrollment, coordinating between faculty and students, and ensuring adherence to approved academic regulations and rules.

The program coordinator also prioritizes effective communication with students, responding to their inquiries through official channels, and providing academic advising to help them plan their studies effectively and overcome any challenges they may encounter.

About the program

The Bachelor of Social Work program, a credit-hour system (fee-paying program), is a specialized academic program designed to prepare qualified social workers with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work with individuals, groups, and communities according to established professional and ethical standards. This contributes to achieving sustainable social development and serving the community.

The Bachelor of Social Work program is committed to developing a cadre of specialized social workers by providing outstanding academic education and effective field training based on modern scientific knowledge. It focuses on developing professional skills and instilling the ethical values ​​of the profession, thereby supporting community service and achieving social justice

Program message

     "The program seeks to prepare social workers who are scientifically and practically qualified in the professional practice of social work, capable of competing in the local and regional labor market, actively participating in community service and development, and dealing with the social and community problems facing various human units, through a smart educational environment that supports quality and innovation, based on scientific principles and keeping pace with the developments of digital transformation and the requirements of community sustainability, starting from professional and community values ​​and ethics."

Article (3) of the Regulations for the Bachelor of Social Work Program (Credit Hour System) – a special fee-based program – stipulates the following:

Paragraph (1) Program Management Committee (Program Academic Council):A) committee shall be formed to manage the special program, chaired by:

  • The Dean of the College, with the following members:
  • The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
  • The heads of the relevant departments involved in the program who are responsible for teaching during the program's semesters.
  • The Program Coordinator.
  • Three experts in the program's field from the College.
  • The Committee Secretary (Administrative) and the Committee's Technical Secretariat.

 

Program Management Executive Team

Article (3) of the Regulations for the Bachelor of Social Work Program (Credit Hour System) – a special fee-based program – stipulates the following:

Paragraph (1) Program Management Committee (Program Academic Council):A) committee shall be formed to manage the special program, chaired by:

Study plan

The program is based on a credit-hour system and includes:

  • Core courses in social work.
  • Specialized courses supporting professional practice.
  • Progressive and integrated field training.
  • Courses developing research and professional communication skills.

Study and Assessment System

  • The program is based on a credit-hour system.
  • Students are assessed through written exams, practical applications, coursework, and field training.
  • Students are required to adhere to attendance policies and approved academic regulations.

Field Training

  • Field training is a fundamental pillar of the program, where:
    • Students receive training in accredited social institutions.

  •  General Division:
  • Qualifies graduates to work as general social workers in various governmental, non-governmental, and private institutions.
  • Family Counseling and Guidance
  • Qualifies graduates to work in family courts, family dispute resolution offices, and programs for young people preparing for marriage.
  • Special Needs Care
  • Qualifies graduates to work in speech therapy centers, autism centers, centers for people with disabilities, centers for people with learning difficulties, and institutions that care for people with disabilities of all kinds.
  • Addiction Control and Treatment
  • Qualifies graduates to work in the Addiction Control Fund, private and governmental addiction treatment centers, and psychiatric hospitals that specialize in treating addicts.

Admission and Registration

Admission to the program is subject to specific conditions, including:

  • Holding a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Meeting admission requirements and providing official documents.
  • Passing the personal interview, medical examination, and required tests.
