The Professional Master's Program in Social Program and Project Planning and Evaluation aims to prepare graduates who are scientifically and professionally qualified, possessing the knowledge and skills related to the foundations, methodologies, and tools of scientific research for evaluating social programs and projects. It also aims to enhance their knowledge of professional models and theories related to social planning. Students are exposed to the latest developments in the field of social program and project planning and develop their specialized professional skills, particularly in the use of information technology and databases. Furthermore, students acquire the skills to make appropriate decisions for designing, implementing, and evaluating plans and programs; measure social and economic returns; set priorities; apply operations research and problem-solving; communicate effectively; negotiate and work in teams; and adhere to the professional and ethical principles of social planning institutions.

First: Program Objectives

The program aims to produce graduates capable of:

1. Utilizing scientific research to evaluate social programs and projects.

2. Developing planning, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.

3. Designing and implementing programs and evaluating their social and economic impact.

4. Developing teamwork, leadership, and professional communication skills.

Second: Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge and Understanding: Comprehending scientific theories and evaluation models in the field of planning and evaluating social programs, projects, and initiatives.

2. Cognitive Skills: Analyzing data and information to plan and evaluate social programs and initiatives, making professional decisions, and effectively solving problems at all levels.

3. Professional Skills: Applying planning and evaluation skills to various social programs and initiatives, designing and evaluating them, and writing professional and research reports.

    Social Welfare Services Planning; Management of Social Programs and Projects; Evaluation of Social Programs and Projects (in English); Applied Social Statistics in Social Work Research; Research Project (Graduation Project); Research on the Evaluation of Programs and Projects; Problems of Planning Processes; Priorities of Social Programs and Projects (Foundations, Methods, and Models).

  • Elective Courses (7 courses), including:
    Social Return Studies of Programs and Projects; Planning Decision-Making; Design of Social Programs and Projects; Ethics of Professional Practice; Monitoring and Supervision in Social Welfare Institutions (Foundations, Principles, and Mechanisms); Planning of Social Programs and Projects; Digital Technology and Planning of Social Programs and Projects.

Evaluation system

To be awarded the Master’s degree, the following requirements must be met:

  1. The student must successfully complete the coursework listed in any of the preceding tables.

  2. The student must obtain at least 60% of the maximum grade in each course and achieve the same percentage in the overall cumulative total of grades.

  3. Students who fail in any course are granted one additional opportunity to retake the examination as a final chance.

Admission and Registration

The following conditions must be met for admission to the Professional Master's Program in Social Investment:

1. The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree from an Egyptian university or its equivalent from a university or scientific institute, whether within Egypt or abroad, recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities.

2. The applicant must be employed by a planning agency, a primary or secondary social welfare institution, or a local, regional, or international civil society organization working in the field of social welfare and development.

3. The applicant must not be enrolled in another academic program within or outside the same college.

4. The applicant must not have been dismissed or had their enrollment cancelled due to academic failure or any other reason from the program they are applying to.

5. The student may not be admitted to the program until they successfully pass the college's personal interviews—oral or written—to assess their readiness for Master's studies.

6. The student submits an application to the Dean of the College, and admission is granted after consultation with the department council, approval by the college council, and endorsement by the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.
