About Unit

The Unit Vision

Achieving justice and transparency in the educational system through applying assessment and measurement rules to raise the college's level, enabling it to compete locally, regionally, and globally.

The Unit Mission

To play a leading role in establishing the measurement and evaluation system and its applications at the college, and providing technical support and follow-up with scientific methodology, accuracy, and transparency to achieve performance quality standards for all elements of the educational process and its outcomes.

The Unit Objectives and Responsibilities

1. Spreading the culture of developing student assessment and examination methods.

2. The necessary support is provided for formulating exam questions and constructing test items in accordance with the exam paper specifications.

3. Monitoring and developing question bank systems.

4. Periodically measuring the satisfaction of stakeholders with the unit's performance and activities.

5. Monitoring the fulfillment of the examination environment through material resource standards (norms).

6. Monitoring and developing the work of the college's examination control rooms.

7. Ensuring that the designed examinations are consistent with the university's examination system and meet the necessary standards, in coordination with the various academic departments

8. Issuing statistics and periodic reports on the status of assessment and measurement at the college.

9. Issuing periodic reports on complaints and petitions submitted by students related to assessment and measurement.

10. Supervising automated marking.

11. Identifying training needs at the college level.

12. Implementing training courses in coordination with the university's training center.

13. Holding workshops for faculty members, students, and administrators on the ethics of student’s assessment.

14. Preparing seminars and conferences related to developing the measurement and evaluation systems of the college.

Two weeks before the start of the academic year

1-  Print and photocopy the forms for the personal interviews

2-  Identify the personal interviews committees

3-  Scheduling the personal interviews

4-  Identify and prepare the location for the personal interviews

5-  Distribute new students to the personal interviews committees

Exam preparation committee and schedules:

a-  For personal interviews for new students

A month and a half before the end of the semester

1-  preparing the exam schedule for the academic courses

2-  Determine the exam location

3-  Inform students of the exam schedule, date, and location

4-  Publish the exam schedule, date, and location on the college’s website

5-  Print and photocopy the exam questions for all courses

6-  Inform the monitoring and supervision committees of the exam date and location

7-  Emphasize to the monitoring and supervision committees the need to adhere to the specified time and perform the tasks assigned to them to the fullest

8-  Follow up with the exam committees during the student’s exam to ensure that there are no problems that hinder the proper conduct of the exam

b- For written exams

 

Three weeks before the exam date

1-  preparing the exam schedule in cooperation with the college vice dean in light of the college council’s directives

2-  Prepare the oral exam locations

3-  Identify exam committees and inform committee members of the exam date and location

c- for oral exams which are represented in (the visit course for the first year, training on skills course for the second year, field training course for the third year, and field training for the fourth year, research project for the fourth year)

 

Ongoing

1-  activate the question bank

2-  ongoing development of the question bank

3-  evaluate the questions for each course

4-  hold training courses for faculty members on how to deal with the question bank

At least one month before the start of the exams and during the exam period

1-  Give faculty members a model of what the exam paper should look like

2-  Receive exam from the faculty members

3-  Obtain the number of committees and number of students in each committee

4-  Ensure that the exam paper matches the model, if it does, the exam is photographed immediately. If it does not, the exam is rewritten in the required format and matches the question paper model, then photographed

5-  Hand over the exam question paper to the head of the examination committee before the exam
