Message from the Unit

In line with the commitment of the Faculty of Social Work at Helwan University to achieve effective and fruitful communication with its graduates, and believing in the importance of this communication, the faculty established a Graduate Follow-up Unit. The unit aims to communicate with graduates by informing them of all the various events and activities within the college, identifying their specific needs, and training them on the skills necessary for the job market and job requirements to qualify them academically and professionally for different positions, in addition to facilitating their opportunities to obtain employment

About Unit

Vision of the Unit

The vision of the Alumni Follow-up Unit crystallizes in continuous communication with the community, developing it, and reducing the problem of unemployment by monitoring the college graduates to achieve an integrated system and activate the methods and educational programs in light of quality standards to align with the requirements of local and regional labor markets

Mission of the Unit

Based on the message of the College of Social Work, the unit's mission includes opening channels of communication and interaction between the college and its graduates by following up on them and providing services aimed at enhancing their capabilities, developing their skills, guiding them to the labor market, and coordinating with their workplaces for effective and constructive cooperation to serve the college, its graduates, and the community.

Objectives of the Unit

  • Building a communication channel between university graduates on one hand and the job market on the other.• Preparing a webpage for the alumni office on the university's website.
  • Creating databases for graduates and working to link them with the university's site.• Supporting the dissemination of a quality culture and raising awareness of the importance of performance evaluation at all levels.
  • Contributing to providing job opportunities for graduates that match their specializations, by advertising those jobs and encouraging graduates to benefit from them.
  • Developing graduates' skills through organizing training and qualification programs that align with the needs of the job market and assist in their employment.
  • Effective communication with job sectors to facilitate finding job opportunities for university graduates easily and smoothly, and gaining the trust of the community in the outcomes of the university's academic process.
  • Providing specific studies on the preparation of university graduates and the percentage of employed and unemployed among them, and supplying interested parties with the results of these studies.
  • Providing information about graduates' trends and the innovative and distinguished programs they need to market.

Unit Activities

Main Goals & Activities:

- Organize the annual employment fair (January).

- Establish a database for graduates (October).

- Prepare a database of graduates’ workplaces.

- Design surveys on graduates’ satisfaction.

- Publish brochures and update the university website with alumni data.

- Prepare graduates’ ID cards and training programs with Microsoft.

- Conduct periodic visits to workplaces.

- Organize workshops, training, and alumni days.

- Collaborate with employers to hire top graduates.

- Develop the alumni Facebook page for better communication.

- Participation in the initiative “Be Together, Be Strong for Egypt” – 3/12/2024

- Seminar: “Risks of Common-law Marriage” – 8/12/2024

- Seminar: “Combating Drugs” – 9/12/2024

- Posting job opportunities and training programs continuously on the official Facebook page.
