Message from the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit

All state institutions are concerned with the development of the educational system, with one of its main Objectives being the quality of higher education, which has become an essential requirement for every educational institution in the current era. Accordingly, Helwan University strives to keep pace with the rapid changes in the educational system and focuses on all elements of the educational process, which requires equipping graduates with diverse skills. In this context, the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Social Work is committed to ensuring the continuity of institutional performance quality, which guarantees the continuous improvement of the quality of the educational process, research activities, and community services in accordance with both national and international standards. This supports the fulfillment of the faculty’s mission and strategic objectives and qualifies it for the renewal of accreditation through the development of integrated systems for internal review and self-assessment.

The Unit also works to foster a positive awareness among all members of the faculty community towards continuous development, relying on highly qualified human resources and ensuring that educational outcomes align with the mission of the faculty and, consequently, the mission and strategic objectives of the university.

Unit Vision

Leadership and excellence in applying quality assurance systems and institutional and academic accreditation standards at the local, regional, and international levels.

Unit Mission

To establish an effective quality system that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational, research, and community services provided by the faculty, while ensuring quality and continuous development of the faculty’s projects and development programs in accordance with its mission, goals, and strategic objectives, and in alignment with national and international standards and specifications of higher education institutions.

The aim is to gain the trust of the community, its organizations, faculty members, staff, and students. This will be achieved by relying on outstanding human competencies, adequate material resources, and effective systems and mechanisms for performance measurement and evaluation, ensuring the faculty’s high competitiveness in delivering distinguished educational, research, and community services

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Unit

1.   Promoting the culture of quality and accreditation among faculty members, their assistants, administrative staff, other employees, and students of the faculty.

2.   Achieving the faculty’s mission and strategic objectives by ensuring the quality of the educational, research, and community activities provided by the faculty.

3.   Establishing a clear quality system within the faculty aimed at enhancing the level of educational services provided by faculty members, thereby enabling the faculty’s graduates to reach a distinguished level that aligns with international standards.

4.   Preparing the faculty to meet the requirements and standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

5.   Gaining the community’s trust in the faculty's graduates by elevating their performance levels in accordance with international standards, ensuring the satisfaction of the community and its various institutions.

6.   Strengthening the relationship between the faculty and civil society institutions to benefit from feedback in developing and improving the services provided by the faculty.

7.   Continuously raising awareness of quality culture and performance evaluation across units and administrative departments of the faculty and monitoring their performance levels.

8.   Providing various proposals and recommendations related to the application of the quality system within the faculty, and carrying out relevant studies to achieve the unit’s objectives and prepare the faculty for comprehensive performance evaluation and future accreditation.

9.   Creating a comprehensive database for the faculty that includes (faculty members, faculty assistants, administrative and support staff, students, academic programs, degrees awarded by the faculty, program and course specifications, and identifying the beneficiaries of the faculty's graduates and their needs).

10.    Proposing the establishment of new academic programs in accordance with the needs of the community.

11.  Contributing to the development of academic standards for the faculty’s programs.

12.  Monitoring the implementation of standards in a way that supports the educational process.
