The role of the Volunteer and Community Development Center is not limited to faculty members alone, but extends to all volunteers through various volunteer activities and events

Message from the Center Director

The Faculty of Social Work at Helwan University has numerous professional and societal roles and responsibilities, including instilling the values and culture of volunteering in social work students and graduates. The role of the Volunteer and Community Development Center is not limited to faculty members alone, but extends to all volunteers through various volunteer activities and events. This is achieved by motivating and encouraging all students to volunteer, promoting charitable work and presenting it professionally, attracting skilled volunteers, activating and increasing community participation, and opening new channels of communication within the faculty and campus with other faculties, as well as with the surrounding community and external environment. This also includes equipping university students with the necessary skills, increasing their sense of social responsibility, consolidating social responsibility concepts, and promoting good citizenship. The Volunteer Center welcomes all volunteers.

Center Vision

Towards a volunteer team capable and willing to volunteer in all fields

Center Mission

Spread the volunteering culture, train and qualify volunteers in a manner appropriate to the various volunteer fields.

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Center

  1. Spreading the culture of volunteering through seminars, workshops, training courses, community participation, and field visits.
  2. Building and strengthening social solidarity and cohesion through volunteer work in various fields.
  3. Optimizing the utilization and investment of human resources and energies.
  4. Strengthening loyalty and belonging to the faculty, the university, the community, and the nation by spreading the culture and spirit of giving, practicing charity, and volunteering.
  5. Developing positive behavior, fostering a love of cooperation, and giving.
  6. Developing volunteer work to contribute to building society and to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.
  7. Implementing various awareness and educational programs through advertising and publicity through various traditional and electronic means.

Center Plan

Center Activities

  • The Volunteer and Community Development Center provided training for third- and fourth-year field training students. Seminars included: (Awareness Seminar, Violence Against Women Seminar, Basic Communication Seminar, Foundations of Success Seminar, Awareness Seminar affiliated with the Drug Control and Treatment Fund, and a "Plant a Fruit Tree" seminar in schools at the Azza Association). Field visits included: (57357 Hospital and Al-Khanka Psychiatric Hospital). Activities included: (Honoring the Drug Control and Treatment Fund, participating in the "Plant a Tree" campaign, and opening literacy classes).
