The Department of Social Work Fields is one of the departments of the Faculty of Social Work at Helwan University. It is one of the leading departments in the faculties and institutes of social work. In addition to providing academic teaching and training specialized academic and practitioner cadres in the fields of social work, the department strives to advance the field scientifically. The department includes many distinguished academic cadres, both faculty members and support staff, who have contributed to enrich the research community. We all work to build a supportive academic environment that strives for continuous development and improvement. Our slogan is excellence, respect, and justice.

The department has been keen to update its academic programs to keep pace with developments in the field of specialization, both at the undergraduate level and at the postgraduate level (diploma, master's, doctorate), targeting both local and international students. It is also in the process of developing professional programs to meet the labour market's requirements for specialized cadres in the fields of social work. The department also organizes numerous academic events, including seminars to develop the research skills for graduate students and researchers, address topics and issues related to the specific specialization. It also organizes the annual symposium or to celebrate with the World Day and Month of Social Work, which was transformed into a scientific conference in 2024.

We are committed to the continuous development and improvement of the department's work system at the academic and administrative levels by developing the capabilities of our students and researchers, considering them focusing on the educational process. This will help us acquire effective professional and research skills that can be employed to address issues and problems related to the generalist practice of social work.

We promise, in our future plans for the department, to ensure the quality of the department's academic programs and their academic accreditation. We also promise to develop academic and professional programs that meet the requirements of the local and regional labour market. We also promise to complete the digital transformation of the department's administrative and academic work through an electronic platform to archive all documents and files within an organizational structure and job descriptions that define the department's tasks and responsibilities.

We also hope to complete the department's project to develop professional intervention models in the areas of the generalist practice of social work in the Egyptian society. In conclusion, I cannot but emphasize that this role played by the Department of Social Work Fields would not have been achieved without the grace of God Almighty, then the supportive and encouraging educational system represented by the leadership at Helwan University in general and the Faculty of Social Work in particular, and the distinguished and dedicated efforts of the department's members. To all, I extend my thanks and appreciation.

I ask God Almighty to guide us to our aspirations, to guide our steps, and to enable us to live up to the responsibility and trust of those who have placed their trust in us in serving knowledge and science, and to consolidate and develop the role of this safe and secure country, our beloved Egypt, in light of its 2030 Vision.

May God guide us all to what is best for our beloved Egypt, our distinguished university, our pioneering Faculty, and our precious and distinguished department.
